Welcome to the Sixth Grade Language Arts and Science Classes. We are the "Super Stars Team". Our Focus for Language Arts this Year includes: --The Writing Process --Fiction --Nonfiction --Poetry --Research Our Units of Study for Science this Year includes: --The Solar System --Refining Science Skills --Matter --Weather --Watershed Systems --Energy Sources --Energy in the Atmosphere --Ecosystems In Language Arts, we will read the following novels (one per grading period): --"My Brother Sam Is Dead" --"Freak the Mighty" --"Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry" --"My Side of the Mountain" Supplies: As you enter the classroom each day, please be prepared and always have your textbook, notebook and supplies (paper, sharpened pencils, etc.) Homework: Please have your homework ready to turn in when I ask for it at the beginning of our class session. Tardy Slips: Upon entering the classroom, please give me the tardy slip. Then, proceed to your desk. Test-Quizzes: Test will be administered after each unit of study. Quizzes will be given throughout the year. Tests will be weighed twice, and quizzes will be weighed once. Lockers: Do not share your locker combination with other students. Cell Phones: All cell phones must be in your locker turned off. All other electronic devices are NOT permitted at school.
